Gevi & Mr. Coffee are both fantastic options if you’re on a budget, but Mr. Coffee offers a lot more serviceability than Gevi.
A lot of brands produce espresso machines, Mr. Coffee is a well-known brand for espresso machines and has built a massive reputation around it. However, how does a newcomer like Gevi do against them?
I’m Ruben, a coffee enthusiast with a love for espresso and its machines. I own espresso machines from both of these brands so let me tell you all about my experiences and thoughts about using them.
Let’s get started.

Gevi VS Mr. Coffee: A Quick Look At Their Brand
Gevi
Gevi is relatively new in the coffee game but is quickly pushing a name out there for itself. Their espresso machines focus heavily on people wanting to get into the hobby without breaking the bank, which they are perfect for.
Gevi also offers a lot more kitchen appliances besides espresso machines such as toasters, ice makers, air fryers, electric kettles, electric grills, etc.
If you’re looking for a Gevi espresso machine then I personally recommend the Gevi 20 Bar Compact Espresso Machine.
Mr. Coffee
Mr. Coffee is a well-known brand in the world of coffee and they get a lot of love. They offer entry machines, as well as high-end machines, so they have something for everyone. Besides that, they offer serviceability and have fantastic customer support.
Mr. Coffee offers budget-friendly coffee machines, which range from drip coffee machines to espresso machines, and even iced coffee makers.
If a Mr. Coffee machine fits you better then I recommend the Mr. Coffee One Touch, 19 BAR Espresso Machine.

Comparison Of Features and Performance
Gevi and Mr. Coffee offer features and performance options needed to make that delicious cup of espresso, so let’s have an in-depth look.
Gevi VS Mr. Coffee: A Side By Side Comparison
When we take a look at both Gevi and Mr. Coffee, then it’s clear that both brands offer a wide range of features and capabilities. However, there are a few key differences to consider.
Gevi tends to use cheaper materials and lacks features such as advanced temperature control.
Mr. Coffee has the same problem but makes up for it with its high-end machines.
Espresso Quality
Both Gevi and Mr. Coffee produce some quality espresso, but I’d like to argue that Mr. Coffee does it a bit better which results in richer and tastier coffee with a lot more crema.
Gevi machines do a decent job of making espresso but nothing out of the ordinary. Is it better than your drip coffee? Yes, no doubt about it. But Mr. Coffee’s espresso quality is just that tiny bit more rich and flavorful from my experience.
Brewing Capabilities and Options
Both brands are almost as equal in their capabilities. Something I did notice is that Gevi espresso machines can brew more cups of coffee after each other. While Mr. Coffee machines have a built-in milk frother to make lattes and cappuccinos.
Mr. Coffee may be a bit slower, but it has a lot more capabilities.
Temperature Control and Settings
Mr. Coffee and Gevi both aren’t big on temperature settings, which you definitely can find on Breville’s machines for example.
Both brands lack advanced temperature control, which is unfortunate. But for the people that don’t care much about temperature control, it’s great!
Durability and Longevity
Both brands build espresso machines that are built to last, and I feel like they’re about as equal here.
Both Gevi and Mr. Coffee go for the same materials. Plastic and if you’re lucky some stainless steel in cheap models but for their high-end machines they like to go for the least amount of plastic possible.
Their high-end espresso machines are packed with high-quality materials such as stainless steel and aluminum.
Design And Build Quality
Aesthetics and Overall Appearance
When it comes to design, Gevi and Mr. Coffee both have nice and sleek designs that people seem to love.
Both brands have a similar style, they tend to go for a compact and round design.
Materials Used and Construction
As I’ve said earlier, Gevi and Mr. Coffee strive for long-term durability, so the materials used are quite similar.
In cheaper models we can see that both Gevi and Mr. Coffee use a mix of stainless steel and plastic, however, it’s in their high-end machines where we see them shine. Here they go for as much stainless steel as possible, this reduces the risk of major parts breaking and overall a longer lifespan of your espresso machine.
Gevi doesn’t have any high-end machines to offer besides their 3-in-1 Espresso Machine, which does seem to be very solid.
Ease Of Use
Gevi and Mr. Coffee strive for user-friendly espresso machines. Both brands make it very easy and convenient to produce a shot of espresso without getting frustrated with the process.
With the press of a few buttons, you’ll have a delicious cup of espresso.
Price and Value for Money
Comparing The Initial Cost
Both companies make machines that come with a hefty price tag, but generally, Gevi is more affordable and thus perfect for absolute beginners.
Mr. Coffee also offers a lot more high-end machines than Gevi, but I’m sure Gevi is going to catch up to that in the near future.
Even Mr. Coffee’s cheaper machines can cost quite a bit and in some cases break the bank, but you do have to keep in mind that you pay for quality materials, incredibly helpful customer support, and serviceability.
Long -Term Savings and Cost-Effectiveness
Gevi and Mr. Coffee are built with long-lasting and high-quality materials, so they should last you quite a while with some proper maintenance.
Gevi may be more cost-effective due to its more affordable price point, however, Mr. Coffee offers part replacement. If something breaks in your machine, you can easily replace it.
Warranty and Return Policy
Both Gevi and Mr. Coffee come with a 1-year warranty, but you could say that Mr. Coffee’s warranty is more useful as they offer a huge amount of part replacements on their website, as well as a handful of part replacement companies which you can always go to if you don’t want to get the parts on their website.
Gevi is less generous in this aspect and doesn’t seem to offer any serviceability.
Mr. Coffee is also quite straightforward in returns, whereas Gevi seems to hassle a bit in some cases.
Maintenance and Customer Support
Cleaning and Upkeep
Both the Gevi and Mr. Coffee require regular cleaning and maintenance to keep them in good working order. None is easier than the other, really. Cleaning your espresso machine will always require some attention and maintenance to make it last longer.
Helpfulness of Customer Support
Both brands offer very responsive and helpful customer support. I’ve heard from multiple people that they’ve had great experiences with both brands’ customer service and both brands received positive feedback. Which is great to hear!
Energy Consumption
Gevi and Mr. Coffee’s espresso machines are very energy-efficient and have low energy consumptions, which will keep your electricity bill as low as possible.
Special Features and Unique Selling Points
Innovative Technology and Capabilities
Gevi and Mr. Coffee offer some amazing innovative technology and capabilities such as temperature control and built-in milk frothing. But keep in mind that none of them have very advanced temperature control.
Accessories and Attachments
Both brands come with various accessories such as filters and measuring cups. But Gevi may have more accessories available due to its wider range of brewing options.
Recommended Usage and Ideal Consumer
Gevi and Mr. Coffee are best suited for users who prioritize affordability and a wide range of brewing options. They are going for the same market, which is the beginner’s audience in coffee or producing quality espresso.
Gevi and Mr. Coffee machines are aimed at home users and small offices that want to brew a variety of coffee types. It’s down to you how much you want to spend on their machines.
The Bottom Line
Gevi and Mr. Coffee both offer some high-quality espresso machines but it comes down to your preferences and needs if you decide to get one of their espresso machines.
Mr. Coffee has a solid reputation and brand, which is why their customer service is amazing, their serviceability comes in handy and you usually won’t break the bank with its machines.
Gevi is a great budget-friendly and beginner-friendly option which is fantastic if you’re new to making espresso.
