Gevi VS Breville

Gevi is great if you’re on a budget, while Breville is a fantastic option if you like to have serviceability and a lot more control over your espresso.

A lot of brands produce espresso machines, Breville is a well-known brand for espresso machines and has built a massive reputation around it. However, how does a newcomer like Gevi do against them?

I’m Ruben, a coffee enthusiast with a love for espresso and its machines. I’ve owned espresso machines from both of these brands so let me tell you all about my experiences and thoughts about using them.

Let’s get started.

Gevi VS Breville: A Quick Look At Their Brand

Gevi

Gevi is relatively new in the coffee game but is quickly pushing a name out there for itself. Their espresso machines focus heavily on people wanting to get into the hobby without breaking the bank, which they are perfect for.

Gevi also offers a lot more kitchen appliances besides espresso machines such as toasters, ice makers, air fryers, electric kettles, electric grills, etc.

Breville

Breville is a well-known brand in the world of coffee and they get a lot of love. They offer entry machines, as well as high-end machines, so they have something for everyone. Besides that, they offer serviceability and have fantastic customer support.

Breville is known for its superior espresso machines, but they do offer other kitchen appliances such as blenders, cookers, ovens, air fryers, toasters, etc.

Comparison Of Features and Performance

Gevi and Breville offer features and performance options needed to make that delicious cup of espresso, so let’s have an in-depth look.

Gevi VS Breville: A Side By Side Comparison

When we take a look at both Gevi and Breville, then it’s clear that both brands offer a wide range of features and capabilities. However, there are a few key differences to consider.

Gevi tends to use cheaper materials and lacks features such as advanced temperature control.

While Breville’s machines have everything you can think of.

Espresso Quality

Both Gevi and Breville produce some quality espresso, but I’d like to argue that Breville does it a lot better which results in richer and tastier coffee with a lot more crema.

Gevi machines do a decent job of making espresso but nothing out of the ordinary. Is it better than your drip coffee? Yes, no doubt about it. But Breville on the other hand makes extremely delicious coffee that’s far above average which is why I think Breville has been this successful for a while.

If you’re looking for a Gevi espresso machine then I personally recommend the Gevi 20 Bar Compact Espresso Machine.

If a Breville machine fits you better then I either recommend the Breville Bambino for beginners or if you want to go all in and never have to worry about another machine again then I recommend the Breville Barista Express.

Brewing Capabilities and Options

Both brands are almost as equal in their capabilities. Something I did notice is that Gevi espresso machines can brew more cups of coffee after each other. While Breville machines have a built-in milk frother to make lattes and cappuccinos.

Breville may be a bit slower but it has everything you could wish for in an espresso machine.

Temperature Control and Settings

Breville has a more advanced temperature control system, which allows you to adjust the temperature to your liking. Gevi does offer temperature control as well but is nowhere as advanced as Breville machines.

Durability and Longevity

Both brands build espresso machines that are built to last. Yet Breville does it a bit better than Gevi.

Breville uses high-quality materials, even in their cheaper models, and also offers serviceability which means you can get your broken parts replaced by your local machine parts provider!

Gevi tends to use cheaper materials such as plastic. This isn’t bad but it will make the look of the machine feel cheap and kind of like a toy. Gevi doesn’t support serviceability so if a part in your machine breaks, it will be for the junkyard, unfortunately.

Design And Build Quality

Aesthetics and Overall Appearance

When it comes to design, Gevi and Breville both have nice and sleek designs that people seem to love.

Gevi seems to go for a compact and round design, while Breville has more of a classic look.

Breville’s focus is on simple and user-friendly functionality.

Materials Used and Construction

As I’ve said earlier, Gevi and Breville strive for long-term durability, so the materials used are quite similar.

In cheaper models we both can see that Gevi uses a mix of stainless steel and plastic, however, Breville uses only stainless steel, even in their entry-level machines. This means that Breville’s cheap machines should last a lot longer than a Gevi machine.

Gevi doesn’t have any high-end machines to offer besides their 3-in-1 Espresso Machine, which does seem to be very solid.

Ease Of Use

Gevi and Breville strive for user-friendly espresso machines. Both brands make it very easy and convenient to produce a shot of espresso without getting frustrated with the process.

Price and Value for Money

Comparing The Initial Cost

Both companies make machines that come with a hefty price tag, but generally, Gevi is more affordable and thus perfect for absolute beginners.

Breville also offers a lot more high-end machines than Gevi, but I’m sure Gevi is going to catch up to that in the near future.

Even Breville’s cheaper machines can cost quite a bit and in some cases break the bank, but you do have to keep in mind that you pay for quality materials, incredibly helpful customer support and serviceability.

Long -Term Savings and Cost-Effectiveness

Gevi and Breville are built with long-lasting and high-quality materials, so they should last you quite a while with some proper maintenance.

Gevi may be more cost-effective due to its more affordable price point, however, Breville offers part replacement. If something breaks in your machine, you can easily replace it.

Warranty and Return Policy

Both Gevi and Breville come with a warranty, but Breville’s warranty is longer and covers more components. Breville also has a more generous return policy, which gives customers peace of mind when making their purchases.

Gevi is less generous in this aspect and doesn’t seem to offer any serviceability.

Maintenance and Customer Support

Cleaning and Upkeep

Both the Gevi and Breville require regular cleaning and maintenance to keep them in good working order. None is easier than the other, really. Cleaning your espresso machine will always require some attention and maintenance to make it last longer.

Helpfulness of Customer Support

Both brands offer very responsive and helpful customer support. I’ve heard from multiple people that they’ve had great experiences with both brands’ customer service and both brands received positive feedback. Which is great to hear!

Energy Consumption

Gevi and Breville’s espresso machines are very energy-efficient and have low energy consumptions, which will keep your electricity bill as low as possible.

Special Features and Unique Selling Points

Innovative Technology and Capabilities

Gevi and Breville offer some amazing innovative technology and capabilities such as temperature control and built-in milk frothing. However, Breville’s milk frother is unique and not available on any Gevi machine.

Accessories and Attachments

Both brands come with various accessories such as filters and measuring cups. But Gevi may have more accessories available due to its wider range of brewing options.

Recommended Usage and Ideal Consumer

Gevi machines are best suited for users who prioritize affordability and a wide range of brewing options. Meanwhile, Breville is best suited for users who want that extra bit of control with its precision temperature control system and convenient built-in milk frother.

Gevi and Breville machines are aimed at home users and small offices that want to brew a variety of coffee types. It’s down to you how much you want to spend on their machines.

The Bottom Line

Gevi and Breville both offer some high-quality espresso machines but it comes down to your preferences and needs if you decide to get one of their espresso machines.

Breville has a solid reputation and brand, this is why their customer service is amazing, their serviceability comes in handy and you can be sure your espresso machine is built with high-end materials.

Gevi is a great budget-friendly and beginner-friendly option which is fantastic if you’re new to making espresso.
